Split Rock Consulting, Inc. Leads
Successful CIS Upgrade Project for Aqua America
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sun Prairie, WI, February 3, 2004 —John Hanke, President of Split
Rock Consulting, Inc. announced the successful implementation of
an upgrade to Philadelphia Suburban Water’s (PSW) Customer
Information System (CIS) on February 2, 2004. Tom Rapp, a Vice
President of Split Rock, led the integration team that consisted
of individuals from Split Rock, PSW, and other consulting firms.
PSW, a subsidiary of Philadelphia
Suburban Corporation (NYSE: PSC) first hired Split Rock in
September 2002. At that time, Split Rock assisted PSW in
evaluating its options for a CIS that would meet its current and
future needs and in identifying ways to improve its customer
service. In late 2002, PSW made the decision to upgrade its
existing CIS, which is Indus’ (formerly SCT Utilities) BANNER CIS.
PSW chose Split Rock to lead this effort because of its reputation
for providing quality integration services at a reasonable cost.
Collectively, Split Rock’s employees have decades of utility and
CIS experience, which meant they could immediately be productive.
Rick Fox, Senior Customer Service Manager for PSW commented,
“Split Rock has been pivotal to our success on this Project. Their
project approach is sound and their resources are talented and
experienced. They brought this project in on time and under
budget.”
The Project began on January 6,
2003. Besides the project management and project planning
services, Split Rock provided the testing lead and resources to
assist PSW with its business process analysis and documentation,
vendor selection, training development and planning, and to
provide BANNER expertise.
“To insure they had a reliable CIS to support their customers, PSW
had to migrate through ten versions of BANNER—from 2.2.0.3 to
3.1.1,” Tom Rapp said. “We assembled a Project Team and advisors
from user departments and Information Technology. The
representatives from the user groups had to switch hats often and
quickly as they worked on business process analysis, testing, and
training. It was no small task. On January xx, their hard work and
dedication paid off with a smooth data migration and a successful
implementation. The folks on the Project Team did a great job.”
